Burnt Wood Drawings on canvas

‘John Cage talks about the notion that every object has an inner sound and that you cannot separate the sound an object makes from itself – that they are interrelated. This struck a chord with me, because in the Burnt Wood Drawings I am trying to capture visually the very essence, the very spirit of an object; a signature if you like – a visual image that can’t be separated from that original object – as in the Phoenix and shadow drawings.
