Under Surveillance

‘Under Surveillance operates on many levels.  Obviously it’s very much a comment about living in the 21st century and the fact that strategically positioned security cameras are very much part of todays public domain. But Under Surveillance also talks about the idea that as a visitor to the museum one is no longer just a passive observer but an integral part of the installation. Everybody is watching everybody else - you are both a spectator and security guard'. One becomes a ‘voyeur’ – looking at other people - looking at other people’.
